Assistant UX Designer - Guildford

I am looking for a n assistant UX Designer for leading Guildford based organisation to fulfil a fixed term contract until the end of 2020

As UX Designer you will join their Digital team and help support the business in the maintenance of their website and user testing and launch of their new user interfaces. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to launch their career in UX, with the chance to get great hands on experience and practical training in user testing and interface design.

To apply I am looking for someone with a good foundational knowledge of UX and web design across a range of online digital platforms, and a design-related degree or equivalent qualification or experience.

Any experience in the below would be beneficial

• An understanding of the principles of user centred design, information architecture, user research, navigational design, visual design, usability and accessibility
• The ability to think creatively and interpret user needs into effective design solutions
• Understanding of cross-browser, cross-platform and cross-channel design
• Understanding of the principles of CMS templates, layouts and workflow
• The ability to use prototyping tools (eg Axure, Balsmiq)
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, preferably including the ability to hand code HTML and CSS.
• Strong typography and layout skills, with good knowledge of limitations on the web
• Good organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks
• Resilience and composure under pressure and working to deadlines
• Strong communication skills, with good visibility and approachability
