Opportunity for a process development chemist to join a global organisation who are growing at c10% year-on-year! The culture is friendly, flexible and collaborative, with a flat management structure and opportunities for future career progression.

The South Wales facility has recently benefited from the transfer of manufacturing for several key products from a European sister site. And due to strong growth across the group, there are plans to expand both headcount and manufacturing capacity over the next few years.

As the process development chemist, you will be joining the business in a new role and can, therefore, put your stamp on the position. You will work with a high degree of autonomy and will play a vital role in the transfer of new products from R&D into production. You will also lead projects to improve efficiency and reduce production costs. Further duties will include: -

  • Leading the transfer of new products from R&D lab scale to production scale
  • Researching future technologies for large scale production
  • Leading the manufacturing scale-up of existing products
  • Troubleshooting of quality issues
  • Maintenance of risk assessment and COSHH paperwork.
  • Identifying areas for improvement

To apply for the process development chemist position, you will need: -

  • A degree in chemistry or a related subject
  • Experience of scaling up products from R&D to pilot plant and full manufacturing
  • A good awareness of health and safety
  • Knowledge of quality control and lean manufacturing would be an advantage

In return the process development chemist will receive a salary between £26,000 - £29,000 and benefits including a company pension contribution of 6%, 25-days holiday plus the bank holidays and life assurance.
